You are a 5-minute stroll to the historic Belmont Park, which features a roller coaster, bumper cars, an 18-hole mini golf putt-putt course, shops, ice cream parlors, an arcade, and restaurants. You are also a 2-minute walk to two sports bars, 3 restaurants, and a food market.
Sea World, the San Diego International Airport, Downtown San Diego, La Jolla, and the San Diego Zoo are just a short car ride away.
What’s really cool is to go down to the docks in San Diego, which is in downtown San Diego, and visit the retired Midway Aircraft Carrier. It’s about a 30- to 45-minute self-tour on the ship, which includes a unique experience with complimentary headphones to describe everything about the ship and all the WWI, WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam fighter planes/jets that are housed on it.
You get to sit in the captain’s chair or climb aboard a real fighter jet or helicopter. It is also located right next to five other attractions that you can climb aboard and go through, including two 16th-century pirate-type ships, the Star of India, a Russian submarine with the torpedoes still ready for launch, and a US submarine. Furthermore, a huge ferry from the turn of the 19th century, and a millionaire’s yacht from the early 1900s. To complete the experience, head over to the Fish Market for the best seafood in all of San Diego!
