Did you know that The San Diego County Fair originated on this day back in 1880 and was held for two days in National City? According to San Diego County Fair’s Facebook, “The city’s founder and National Ranch Grange leader Frank Kimball were looking for an event to showcase the community’s agriculture, industry, and arts. The event’s success contributed to Kimball later being selected as the State Commissioner of Horticulture.🌾

The San Diego County Fair established a permanent home at the Del Mar Fairgrounds many years later–in 1936.”
